How to Reach Ramkund from Nashik Road Railway Station

The easiest way to reach Ramkund from Nashik Road Railway Station is by taking a direct city bus (CityLinc) or a shared auto-rickshaw. The distance is approximately 10 km and takes about 30 minutes in normal traffic.

Nashik Road Railway Station is the primary arrival point for millions of pilgrims attending the Simhastha Kumbh Mela. However, the station is located quite far from the old city area of Panchavati where Ramkund (the holy bathing ghat) is situated. Here is how you can easily make the transit.

1. CityLinc Buses (Highly Recommended)

The Nashik Municipal Corporation runs a brilliant fleet of green city buses called CityLinc. As soon as you exit the railway station, walk straight to the bus depot located right outside the main gate.

• Bus Routes: Look for buses heading to "Panchavati", "Nimani Bus Stand", or "CBS" (Central Bus Stand).
• Cost: Approx ₹20 - ₹30 per person.
• Pros: Very cheap, safe, and operates continuously during the Kumbh Mela.

2. Shared Auto-Rickshaws

If you prefer a slightly faster route and don't mind squeezing in, shared auto-rickshaws (locally called 'share-autos') are available 24/7 right outside the station.

• Cost: Approx ₹50 per seat.
• Where to drop off: Ask the driver to drop you at "Panchavati Karanja" or "Malegaon Stand". From there, Ramkund is a short 5-10 minute walk.

3. Pre-paid Taxis and Ola/Uber

For families with heavy luggage, you can book an Ola or Uber. However, during the peak Shahi Snan days, app-based cabs may not be allowed to enter the core Panchavati zone. You will likely be dropped at a barricade about 2 km away from Ramkund.

Important Advice for Kumbh Mela 2027

During the main bathing dates (Shahi Snan), the entire 10 km route from the station to Ramkund will be heavily restricted. The government will operate special "Kumbh Shuttle" buses that are free or highly subsidized. Look for the massive holding areas outside the station and follow the police instructions to board these shuttles.
