The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) is implementing the most technologically advanced crowd management system in the event's history. For the first time, AI/ML-based crowd monitoring systems will track real-time crowd density at all major ghats, predict congestion 15–20 minutes in advance, and issue automated alerts to police control rooms.
Live CCTV command center monitoring 500+ cameras
Drone surveillance over Ramkund and Trimbakeshwar during Snan days
AI crowd density prediction and real-time alerts
Integrated Park & Ride shuttle system from outer parking zones
NSS, NCC, and local volunteers deployed at all key points
If you feel trapped in a dense crowd, raise both arms in front of your chest like a boxer. This protects your lungs and ribs from crowd pressure and ensures breathing space.
Never try to push against a moving crowd. If you lose your direction, move sideways gradually toward the edge. Fighting the crowd flow has caused tragedies at past events.
The moment you arrive at any ghat or temple, identify the nearest police post, medical station, and emergency exit. Do this before anything else.
Agree on a specific meeting point (e.g., a temple gate, police post, or landmark) before entering crowded areas. Phones often lose signal on peak days.
Shahi Snan processions and the maximum crowd converge between 8 AM and 12 PM. Visit before 6 AM or after 3 PM for a safer, more manageable crowd experience.
Authorities set up special lanes for senior citizens, disabled pilgrims, and women with children. Look for signs with 'Divyang Marg' or ask any volunteer.
