Is Registration Required for Nashik Kumbh Mela 2027?

With millions of pilgrims planning their journey to the Simhastha Kumbh Mela, one of the most common questions is: Do I need to register or get an e-pass?

The short answer is No. General entry to the Kumbh Mela, including access to the ghats for the holy dip, is completely free and open to the public. The Nashik-Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA) has not announced any mandatory registration system for individual pilgrims.

What About Vehicle E-Passes?

While pilgrims can walk freely, vehicles are a different story. During peak Shahi Snan dates (August and September 2027), the core city areas around Ramkund and Trimbakeshwar will be heavily barricaded. To drive into these restricted "No Vehicle Zones", you will likely need a special digital vehicle permit or e-pass issued by the Nashik Traffic Police.

Beware of VIP Pass Scams

Because there is no official entry fee, scammers often try to sell fake "VIP Darshan Passes" or mandatory registration certificates online. Do not fall for these.
